Carmi Cimicata is an artist who collects art - all kinds of art, Russian painted boxes. pins, vintage jewelry, Frida Kahlo clay dolls by Josefina Aguilar, and much, much more.  Carmi's goal is to work large scale in the next decade. We are excited share Carmi's post:

Here is a very look at the paper mache deer heads that were created in the Westcott "lunch and learn" class on Friday.  It is such a pleasure to be in a company headquarters that appreciates how wonderful a creative event can be for staff.

For this special event, the "lunch and learn" started at 9am and everyone crafted through the lunch at noon.

Everyone entered the board room to see this blank paper mache deer head and a bottle of Traci Bautista Collage Pauge at their seat.

To create these special heads, we also had a large selection of tissue paper to choose from.  It took only a few minutes for everyone to select a favorite colour palette.  Our table was quickly covered!

The NAEA National Convention is an annual event providing substantive professional development services that include the advancement of knowledge in all sessions, events, and activities for the purpose of improving visual arts instruction in American schools. As such, it is the world's largest art education convention.

The three-day convention includes over 1,000 participatory workshops, panels, seminars for job-alike groups . . . research reports, discussions, exhibits, and tours . . . keynote addresses by world-acclaimed educators, artists, researchers, and scholars . . . with the opportunity to connect with your colleagues from all over the  world. Each year some 140-200 exhibitor booths displaying the latest art  textbooks, high-tech software, prints, slides, curriculum materials, equipment, and programs, as well as the latest studio and art history media are made available for examination and review to art educator delegates.

Westcott Brand proudly sponsors The Banners of Hope Project Charity Wings Art Center traveling exhibit! The Fabric Arts Council of CHA is proud to introduce the Banners of Hope project. 

Banners of Hope is a project built around fabric-based banners used to express messages of hope and encouragement in a subtle, artistic format and is intended to be displayed in public locations that benefit those in challenging circumstances. The CHA Designer members listed have created one-of-a-kind art banners showcasing their talents and their hopes. The banners have been donated to Charity Wings in their outreach program and for a Charity promotional event January 15 &16 that will be broadcast on the web.

CreativFestival 2011 LIVE Costume Design Challenge & Make n' Takes

Westcott Brand® sponsored a live costume design challenge on stage at CreativFestival 2011. This live crafting event was hosted by the fabulous Wendy Russell of the TV show She’s Crafty! Contestants created costumes on mannequins in a competition with a grand prize of $1000 cash and a gift basket of Westcott Brand® and Duck® Brand products valued at $1000! 

Materials for the challenge were generously provided by event supporters: Floracraft Make it Fun™, Velcro® Brand Fasteners, Duck Tape® Brand Duct Tape, Blumenthal Lansing, The Beadery and Ad tech™.
