Duck Tape® Wreath Instructions
Tools:
Wire Twist Tie
Materials:
Step 1: Using the Westcott Brand Titanium Bonded 8” Non – Stick scissors cut the green duck tape into several 3 inch strips
Step 2: With the sticky side of the ducktape facing up, fold one edge over itself while leaving some adhesive exposed on the side and top. The top edge should have about 1 inch of adhesive showing, and the side edge should have about 1/8th of an inch showing.
Step 3: Take the opposite edge with the 1/8th inch of exposed tape and fold it over, leaving only the 1 inch of stickiness on the top edge. This is a folded-point-petal. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you’ve create enough folded-point-petals to cover the entire surface of the wreath
Step 4: Park the folded-point-petals on the Westcott brand reversible self-healing cutting mat.
Step 5: Before adhering the folded-point-petals to the wreath, cover the wreaths entirely with strips of duck tape. This will prepare the surface for adhering to the folded-point-petals.
Step 6: Starting at the bottom center of the wreath, stick the folded-point-petals onto the foam shape in rows. Layer rows of pointed petals on top of each other. Create a pattern of petals on the wreath by evenly staggering the points in each row. Repeat this step until you get halfway around and then repeat on the other side until the entire surface of the wreath is covered in petals.
Step 7: To make a bow for the wreath, create ribbons of various lengths by joining one long strip of tape to another (sticky sides together). Trim any excess exposed adhesive with the Westcott Brand Titanium Bonded Non-Stick Scissors. Repeat this step several times to create several ribbons.
Step 8: Create ribbons in a variety of width by cutting some of the strips length wise
Step 9: Loop the ribbons together and secure in the center with a wire twist tie. Using the Westcott Brand Non-Stick scissors trim the ends of the ribbons from the bow at a 45 degree angle for a finished decorative look.
Step 10: Using the Adtech Hi-temp Hot Glue gun, secure the bow to the bottom of the wreath with hot glue. Optional: The wreath can be further embellished with buttons and flat back gems.
